“About The Role
PTW’s Portugal studios is looking for a Game Content Designer to drive the creation of engaging gameplay content from concept to release. You will collaborate closely with programmers, artists, and other team members to ensure the project vision is maintained and executed effectively. This role involves working with in-house tools to integrate assets and functionality while managing detailed documentation and communication. You will be responsible for delivering immersive gameplay experiences that align with the project’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop gameplay content from initial concept through to final release
Collaborate with programmers, artists, and other disciplines to create engaging experiences
Maintain and communicate the project vision to the team
Integrate assets and functionality using in-house tools and engines
Manage and maintain detailed documentation, coordinating with stakeholders for approvals
Communicate progress and successes with the wider team
Requirements
Passion for strategy games
Experience in content design for at least one released title or relevant personal work/mods
Intermediate C# scripting experience
Proficiency with databases and content authoring pipelines
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Must have the right to work in Portugal”

PTW’s Portugal studios is looking for a Lead Game Level Designer who will be responsible for designing, creating, and balancing game levels and encounters. This role involves leading a team of Level Designers, providing feedback, fostering career growth, and ensuring project goals are met. The Lead Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate while adhering to industry standards. The position requires both creative and technical proficiency to ensure an engaging and polished player experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of Level Designers, providing feedback and support through regular 1:1s and career development
Develop and implement level design ideas from conception through prototyping and final execution
Collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines to align on design objectives
Drive innovation while maintaining a solid understanding of industry standards and design methodologies
Balance single-player level design, including pacing, gameplay spaces, and AI behaviors
Apply metrics consistently to ensure progression, balance, and replayability in game design
Support other departments in problem-solving and assist in recruitment and leadership development
Requirements
Proficiency in Unreal Engine ver 4 or 5
Strong knowledge of level design, player navigation, and signposting
Experience in game level balancing, AI behavior utilization, and gameplay pacing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration
Good time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with leadership experience and the ability to mentor and develop others
Familiarity with a wide range of games across multiple platforms and understanding of core design practices
Must have the right to work in Portugal”

You will take concepts from initial ideas through to prototyping, detailed design, and implementation. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines to deliver innovative and high-quality levels, while adhering to industry standards. You will also contribute to the development of design methodologies and best practices within the team.

Requirements
