1630 – The Thirty Years’ War (um videojogo RTS)

Está a decorrer uma campanha para apoiar o desenvolvimento de um videojogo do género RTS, com o titulo “1630 – The Thirty Years’ War”

Este videojogo pretende retratar o episódio da guerra dos trezes anos que decorreu e 1630 e que opôs a Confederação Prussiana, aliada à Coroa do Reino da Polônia, e a Estado da Ordem Teutônica (wikipédia). O jogo está a ser desenvolvido pelo “Button Down Studios”

Conferência WA I Criação de Videojogos (presencial, em Carnaxide)

Um estudo publicado em 2022 estima perto de cem empresas e receitas anuais na ordem dos 31 milhões de euros. O que mudou em vinte anos? É o tema da conferência Criação de Videojogos em Portugal, moderado por Ricardo Correia (Rubber Chicken/Playstation Talents Portugal), com a participação de Ricardo Cesteiro (Camel 101) e de Calebe Motta (Outriders).”

Procura-se um Game QA Senior Tester (em Braga), em que:

What we’re looking for
All candidates must be able to work from the studio for the first 3 months,
Ideally 2-3+ years of experience as a Game QA Tester or having professional Game QA Tester experience with proven ownership of one or more test areas/releases.
Fluent in English both written and verbal form.
Ability to create clear and concise reports both in written and verbal form.
Understanding in game creation and development process.
Experience working with bug tracking software
Ability to write and execute test plans
Experience of working with internal and external test teams
Experience and passion for games and game engines with a deep knowledge of all platforms
Eagerness to learn and keep up with QA game trends
Ability to create strong working relationships with team members
Ability to coordinate between different feature areas as well as development partners
Experience providing subject matter knowledge to improve overall quality and processes
Attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
A curious mind and a scientific approach to analysis.

Nice To Have But Not Essential
Advanced technical knowledge of white-box testing, automation, analytics, audio, animation etc, and proficiency with advanced testing tools (internal/external),
Experience testing through the full development cycle of several products
Experience in set up and use of 1st-party dev kits, documentation and tools.
Knowledgeable with certification process and technical standards.
Experience with Test Automation tools.
Scripting/coding experience.
ISTQB certification or equivalent certifications.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Experience with Test Rail or other test management tools.
Experience with Asana or other similar bug and project management tools.
Experience with QA methodologies and QA life cycle.

Studio Working Criteria
Candidates must live within 60 minutes of studio.
Home working may be offered after an initial 3 months of working at the studio.


Procura-se um Game QA Tester (em Braga), em que:

All candidates must be able to travel to and from the Bucharest studio for the 1st 3 months.
Ideally 6+ months of experience with Video Game Testing
Good command of the English language, verbal and written
An additional language could be advantageous.
Great observational skills and attention to detail
Basic knowledge of Google or Microsoft’s office suites
Team player that excels in a diverse, collaborative, and fast pace environment
Flexibility with availability and schedule
Knowledge of multiple operating systems and bug tracking databases is a plus
Previous experience as a video game tester and a passion for gaming.
Advanced computer skills with experience with PC, console, and mobile games.
Advanced understanding of game dynamics, sandbox explorations, side quests, and hidden levels.
Attention to detail and good communication skills.
Computer literacy – particularly with Excel.
Robust Internet research skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Previous experience with using different software, applications, and websites.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and collaborate within project teams.
Be able to provide evidence of Right to Work in the country.

Procura-se um Unreal Level Designer (remoto), em que:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
Professional experience in level design: +4 years
Knowledge of Game Theory and Game Design
Knowledge of the tools used for Level Design
Strong problem solving ability and technical know-how
Experience creating levels for multiplayer shooters, indoors or outdoors, puzzles, adventure games, first person, top-down
Experience working with Art and Programming departments
Experience working on games from pre-production to release and LiveOps
Shipped multiple game titles as Game Level Designer
Passion for video games and software quality
Must be proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, capable of working autonomously and energetic
Fluent English and good communication skills
Basic understanding of planning and monitoring tools (Jira, Asana, etc)
Experience with Git / Sourcetree

Desirable Pluses
Experience in other fields of game design, such as systems design, game economy, game narrative
Experience working with Unity and Unreal game engines
Basic scripting skills to adjust features created by developers
Basic knowledge in 3D software like Maya/3DStudio Max
Experience developing for PC and console platforms.


Procura-se um Software Engineer – Unreal 5 Generalist – Mid level or Senior, em que:

Key responsibilities
Design and implement key functionalities for Today;
Working on numerous areas like Gameplay, Multiplayer, UI, CoreTech, AI, etc;
Audit current tech stack and identify potential risks;
Document learning processes and features;
Other engineering tasks assigned by the Technical Director.

What we expect from you
Solid engineering background;
Good C++ proficiency;
Good understanding of Programming Patterns;
At least one shipped game;
Experience with console development is greatly appreciated;
Experience with UE4/UE5, working experience in other engines whether in-house or commercial is also greatly appreciated;
Understanding of Multiplayer development principles;
Strong communication skills and attention to detail;
Proactive, problem solving mindset;
Strong team-player.
